30.62 % increase in approved NOC applications by DEWA in 2023

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that DEWA has approved 120,409 No Objection Certificates (NOC) applications in 2023 as part of the Soqoor programme, achieving a 30.62% increase compared to 2022. This reflects the increasing demand for electricity and water services, according to the highest international standards of efficiency, quality and availability.

DEWA records the world’s lowest electricity Customer Minutes Lost (CML) per year in the world with an average of 1.06 minutes

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), announced that DEWA has achieved the lowest electricity Customer Minutes Lost (the total number of minutes called CML, during which customers experience a power outage) in the world in 2023. DEWA recorded just 1.06 minutes per customer, breaking its record of 1.19 minutes per customer in 2022. This is compared to around 15 minutes recorded by leading utility companies in the European Union.

9th Dubai International Project Management Forum kicks off this Wednesday

DEWA recorded 12.5 million digital transactions in 2023

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced that its customers conducted around 12.5 million digital transactions in 2023, compared to around 10 million digital transactions in 2022, an increase of about 25%. This reflects DEWA’s leading role in supporting the wise leadership’s vision to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world. The digital transactions conducted by customers included over 2.1 million transactions using DEWA’s website, over 3.2 million transactions using DEWA’s smart app, in addition to more than 6.8 million transactions through various digital channels that DEWA provides in collaboration with its partners.

DEWA releases a thought leadership paper on climate resilience

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) released a thought leadership paper on climate resilience at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The paper, which was developed by DEWA in cooperation with Marsh, a global risk advisor and part of Marsh McLennan Group, demonstrates the methods and mechanisms implemented by DEWA to ensure continuous climate resilience at the solar park. The methods aim to mitigate the effects of climate change and effectively handle different scenarios and risks that may occur over the following decades. The paper was released during a discussion session titled ‘Risk to Resilience: Adapting to Climate Challenges’. During the session, DEWA and Marsh presented the findings of the study and highlighted DEWA’s efforts to ensure the highest levels of readiness and current and future climate risk management. The session also underscored DEWA’s efforts to enhance the resilience of the power and water sectors and constantly develop its proactive risk management capabilities. This enhances DEWA’s growth and prosperity and consolidates its position as one of the best utilities in the world.

COP28 delegates praise the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park and DEWA’s sustainability efforts

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised field visits for 217 participants in COP28 to the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. Most of the visitors were from outside the UAE. The visits, which were organised during COP28, included the Innovation Centre and the 4th phase of the solar park. The guests praised the Innovation Centre, a major landmark of Dubai and a key destination for those who wish to learn about the latest innovations in clean and renewable energy technologies. Visitors also commended DEWA’s efforts in implementing the phases of the solar park using the latest technologies and the best international practices.
