The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced today the opening of its Customer Care Center at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (DNRD). The inauguration of the new office at DNRD is within DEWA’s framework to strengthen the cooperation between Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and government departments and various business organizations. DEWA also aims at extending DEWA's customer services network of offices throughout Dubai, in order to reach the largest number of customers and facilitate access to the services provided. This is an addition to the ongoing Jubilee celebrations for DEWA, and will enable the Authority's customers to pay their electricity and water bills, registration of the new customers, payment and refund of deposits, meters examination requests, getting clearance certificates and other services provided by the customer service offices. The ceremony was attended by HE / Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer- MD and CEO of DEWA and HE Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs - Dubai, as well as by the Executive Vice-President/Vice President and the senior staff of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and the Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai. Among the attendees were the Vice-President Executives and the senior staff from DEWA, including Dr. Yousef Ebrahim Al-Akraf - Vice President of Human Resources and Acting EVP of Business Support, Mr. Abdullah Al-Hajri – EVP- Customer Services, Mr. Marwan Bin Haider – VP -Information Technology, Ms. Amal Al Suwaidi – VP Customer Relations, Ms. Maryam Hilal Al Mutaiwei, SM – Personnel Management, Mr. Arif Julfar - Manager of Media and Marketing. HE Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, MD and CEO- DEWA, stated that the opening of the new office reflects the common aspiration of DEWA and the Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs - Dubai towards enhancing the principle of cooperation and strategic partnership between them, thus, setting a leading example for other government departments, in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Today we are laying a new brick in the edifice of cooperation and joint work with the Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai. The Directorate had allocated a suitable location for the office within its headquarters. This step comes out of our common faith in the importance and the need for concerted efforts between all government institutions for the betterment of their services in order to save the time and effort of their customers and achieve the highest levels of satisfaction,he said. This cooperation also reflects our thrive towards more excellent achievements that reinforce and entrench the position of Dubai as a global destination for business and finance, and at the same time, achieves the aspirations of our government in ensuring excellence in its various services and all activities, he explained. By opening this new office our aim is to increase our services' outlets in order to reach all government departments and enable our customers to complete all their transactions with the Authority, he added. His Excellency thanked the efforts of both organization and the fruitful cooperation which constitutes a bright spot in the sky their strategic partnership. From his end, HE Major General Mohammad Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs -Dubai said during the press conference held to mark the opening of the office of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's Customer Care Center, that this initiative is a continuation of the strategic partnership and an activation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between DEWA and DNRD. The MOU aimed at improving ways of cooperation to bring on the implementation of a productive environment of teamwork in line with the strategy of the Federal Government and the Dubai Government strategy in order to provide the best services for customers for both departments, he added. This cooperation will improve the functionality by streamlining the procedures and reducing the time needed to complete the transactions, and will have a very positive effect on the customers’ satisfaction by simplifying the procedures and addressing the customers’ needs and expectations,he explained. HE Al Marri stressed on the Directorate’s permanent efforts to promote effective communication in order to expand the network of effective relationships with local, regional and global partners through cooperation and exchange of experiences and information. This process will enable us to meet the challenges on the professional, security and knowledge levels, and keep us ahead of the rapid developments in various fields locally and globally, he concluded. Major General Al Marri praised the continued cooperation and concerted efforts between the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs -Dubai.
