Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organizes its annual ceremony in the presence of 700 of its employees

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority organized yesterday its annual dinner under the theme of “Golden Jubilee”. This dinner was attended by H.E. Mattar Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board , H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer MD & CEO of DEWA, members of the Board, around 700 employee, EVP’s, VP’s, long- service employees as well as other DEWA’s officials. This dinner was held at Al Jawhara Hall in Madinat Gummeira to celebrate DEWA’s achievements through 2010. This ceremony is part of DEWA’s initiatives aiming to strengthen job loyalty and enhance the relations between DEWA’s staff. H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer MD & CEO of DEWA stated: “Our gathering this year coincides with DEWA’s celebrations of its Golden Jubilee – the 50th Anniversary of leadership and excellence in serving the ambitious plans of development in the UAE. These achievements, which aim at consolidating Dubai’s leading position in the region as a world economic and financial hub, are the fruits of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as well as the great efforts exerted by the all DEWA staff either current or retired.” DEWA’s achievements during the past five decades are stunning. At first, the take-off was modest, but now it has become a significant landmark, and a good example to follow. We all take pride in what we have reached either at the national or international levels. There is a close relation between employees’ efficiency, skills, creation, and persistence and between the qualities of work outputs. As a result, DEWA spares no effort to provide ongoing training and learning as well as bringing in and applying the best practices in order to serve our mutual tendency towards more promotion and progress. On his part, Dr. Yousef Ebrahim Al-Akraf, Vice President of HR stated: “DEWA’s human resources are its drive towards leadership and excellence. Consequently, we care for each individual at DEWA – this is the core and spirit of our strategy. And our method has become a good example to follow. We regard our staff as our real wealth and pillar of different activities and business. They promote performance, support services, secure our customers’ satisfaction and attain the highest levels of efficiency and reliability.” “This ceremony is part of DEWA’s plan based on honoring and awarding distinguished employees who spent long years working at DEWA. But for those sincere employees who worked hard, DEWA wouldn’t have achieved success,” Dr. Al Akraf added. At the end of the ceremony, H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer MD & CEO of DEWA honored 37 employees who spent 10, 20, and 30 years working at DEWA calling upon them to continue their relentless efforts and loyalty throughout their remaining march.” The honouring also included employees who participated in Tawasol Suggestion Scheme, departments and sections which attained the highest levels of internal job satisfaction, and one of DEWA’s retired employees who is considered to be one of the leaders who played a role in establishing it, spent years working at it and helped in its success and achievements. Also the honouring encompassed 21 of DEWA’s trainers who exerted great efforts in training employees and providing them with expertise so as to properly serve DEWA.
