On the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority hosted a series of religious lectures delivered by Sheikh Mohammed Abdurrahman Al Oraifi at its headquarters. His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA attended these lectures, in addition to a number of EVP’s, senior officials, and DEWA’s staff. These lectures, which are part of DEWA’s initiatives and social responsibility, aim to promote awareness of Islamic values related to this Holy Month of Ramadan, as well as strengthening the spirit of solidarity, intimacy and tolerance among all the staff. During his first lecture organized by Employee Relations Department in collaboration with Women’s Committee, Sheikh Al Oraifi urged all the audience to attend such lectures where Allah is mentioned and glorified. He also called for the avoidance of backbiting (mentioning bad things of people), and to seek legal sciences. Al Oraifi told the story of Abu Yussef Al Qadai as an example. The second lecture tackled the scientific miracles in the Holy Quran, and how this can affect the non-Muslims when they listen to it. At the end of the lectures, His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer offered an honorary shield and a certificate of recognition to Sheikh Al Oraifi.
