Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) have started work on a project to supply, install and commission a 132Kv main transformation substation at Mushrif to replace the current substation. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said that DEWA will replace the three bus bars 132Kv existing main substation with a new four bus bars model. “This new main substation will increase transformation capacity, boost the efficiency of power grids in the area, and will lessen loads of other transformation substations. The cost of the project is up to AED 137 million, and it will be completed by July 2013,” said His Excellency. His Excellency highlighted DEWA’s relentless pursuit to enhance its infrastructure with the most cutting-edge technologies, especially Digital Control Systems of substations, to connect them to DEWA’s Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition Center (SCADA) to increase the efficiency and reliability of its power grids.
