Dubai Electricity & Water Authority’s first Samsung Smart TV application now available online

DEWA maintains relentless efforts to deliver best e-services Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has made its first Samsung Smart TV-compatible application available on the Samsung Smart Hub. DEWA is the first public-sector organization in the region to develop a business application for the Samsung Smart TV range and the first organization to provide its application through the Samsung Smart Hub. Thanks to the newly-developed Samsung Smart TV DEWA application, consumers can now check their bills, change billing information, request new connections, obtain information about customer service centers and learn about more than 200 sites for bill payment, as well as find out more about the latest DEWA news and events from the convenience of their living room. “In line with the vision and directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to introduce and apply the most up-to-date technologies and solutions for government organizations to ensure customer satisfaction by providing the best-possible service, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has launched the Samsung Smart TV application to enable customers to pay through their televisions,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. “This is yet another example of DEWA’s relentless efforts to deliver the best e-services to save its customers time and effort. This application includes the following features; regular updates and news about DEWA, billing enquiries for water and electricity, locations of customer service centres, and other information such as contact numbers and working hours for each location.” “This is one more of DEWA’s great achievements, especially in the field of optimizing customer services and achieving the highest levels of satisfaction. DEWA makes every continuous effort to enable customers to use the latest technologies to save time and effort,” added His Excellency. “DEWA’s customers will be able to download these applications free-of-charge from Samsung Smart Hub, which is available through Samsung Smart TVs,” said Marwan Salim bin Haider, CIO and VP of the IT Division at DEWA. DEWA provides regular payment channels through its offices, and also through petrol stations such as ENOC and EPPCO, Emirates Post Offices, Etisalat and Bank payment machines, mpay through the portal mpay.dubai.ae, DEWA’s electronic portal (www.dewa.gov.ae), and a range of applications for smart phones and devices including iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Blackberry Playbook, Android and Windows 7.
