The discussions focused on the progress of preparations and the latest updates of World Energy Forum 2012, which will be hosted by Dubai from 22nd to 24th of coming October at Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme ‘World Leaders Forum’. “The initiative of ‘Green Energy for Sustainable Development’, which was launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has been included into the Forum’s Newsletter and it will be available to decision makers concerned with the green economy sector,” said Dr. Harold Hyun-Suk Oh. Dr. Harold Hyun-Suk Oh has stressed that more than thirty heads of states will attend this global event up till now. This Forum will be held in Dubai for the first time out of the United Nations headquarters in New York, after a fierce competition with a number of big world cities. “This Forum is a valuable and notable addition that contributes to strengthening the position of the UAE in general and the Emirate of Dubai in particular. This Forum will also enhance the UAE’s march as a global hub for energy and a leading centre for energy studies and research. Energy has become the world’s major concern, that’s why the United Nations has assigned the year 2012 to be The World Year for Sustainable Energy For All,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
