French Ambassador to the UAE and French Consul General in Dubai visit Supreme Council of Energy for Dubai

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy for Dubai (SCE), has met with HE Alain Azouaou, the Ambassador of France to the UAE, and Eric Giraud-Telme, the French Consul General in Dubai, attended by DEWA staff including Dr. Youssef Al Akraf, EVP of Business Support, Khawla Al Mehairi, VP of Marketing and Corporate Communications, and Ahmed Abdullah, Deputy Senior Manager of External Communications. Al Tayer welcomed Azouaou, and the bilateral talks tackled the SCE and its work; focusing on the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 and Dubai’s energy-diversification plans in progress and discussed the Council’s efforts to enhance collaboration and coordination with the Republic of France at the highest levels. Multilevel bilateral relations constituted a key discussion area during the meeting, with a particular focus on strengthening collaboration between French energy corporations and the SCE. Al Tayer explained Dubai’s preparations to host the World Energy Forum 2012 in October, extending the SCE’s invitation to host a high level French delegation; especially as France is a technologically-advanced global player in the energy sector and is well-placed to benefit from harnessing renewable energy in power generation. The French Ambassador thanked Al Tayer for extending this invitation to attend and participate in the World Energy Forum, stressing France’s keen interest in WEF 2012 and confirming the attendance of a high-level French delegation to represent his country. The French Ambassador also complimented Dubai’s business-friendly environment and the services it offers to French companies operating in the Emirate, pointing out that French energy companies are keen to collaborate with the SCE. Azouaou concluded his visit by thanking Al Tayer for his hospitality and for informing him of the work the Council’s is undertaking.
