Supreme Council of Energy Vice Chairman receives arriving UK Consul General for Dubai

As part of preparations to receive delegations that will participate in World Energy Forum (WEF) 2012, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy for Dubai and Vice Chairman of the WEF 2012 Higher Organizing Committee, met with Edward Hobart, Her Majesty’s new Consul General at the British Embassy in Dubai and Timothy Saada, Trade and Investment Officer, attended by Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, President of the Services, Logistics and Facilities Committee, Khawla Al Mehairi, Vice Chairman of the WEF 2012 Media Committee, and Ahmed Abdullah, Deputy Senior Manager of External Communications at DEWA. Al Tayer welcomed Hobart and briefed him on the World Energy Forum 2012. They addressed the United Kingdom’s participation at the Forum, which is being organized at the Dubai World Trade Centre between 22—24 October under the theme A Forum for World Leaders. “The 2012 World Energy Forum will bring together several heads of state, premiers, ministers, business leaders of leading companies, policymakers and experts in the field of energy and sustainability from all over the world to discuss the need for safe sustainable energy which is a crucial ingredient in establishing the foundations for social and economic sustainable development,” said Al Tayer. Al Tayer also stressed the importance of strengthening close ties between the Supreme Council of Energy and British institutions in the field of energy, and how to strengthen cooperation and mutual support. At the end of the meeting, the British delegation thanked Al Tayer for his hospitality, the briefing on the Supreme Council of Energy and its operations and projects.
