Dubai Women’s Association honors DEWA

The Dubai Women’s Association (DWA) today honored Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) for its support to the various projects and events organised by the Association in the past year to empower women in various fields and enhance community spirit. HH Sheikha Amina bint Humaid Al Tayer, Chairperson of the Association, presented a memento to Khawla Al Mehairi, Chairperson of DEWA’s Women’s Committee, at the appreciation ceremony held at DWA’s headquarters in Hamriya. Her Highness praised DEWA’s efforts in supporting the events and initiatives of the Association, which aim to further strengthen the role of women in the community and promote their overall welfare. “DEWA’s support to the Dubai Women’s Association accords with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and our strategy to support initiatives that strengthen organisations and individuals, and in particular, empower women. We are committed to partnering in initiatives that will further strengthen social cohesion and drive the growth of women across all sectors, and this is part of our social responsibility,” said Al Mehairi. “The recognition from DWA confirms the leading role played by DEWA in strengthening cooperation among government departments, private organisations, and charitable institutions to achieve common social growth goals. DEWA’s efforts contribute to achieving the objectives of the institutions and strengthen the sustainable development of Dubai,” concluded Al Mehairi.
