The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy has organised an Iftar on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day held on 19 Ramadan each year, in fulfillment of the ‘Zayed Humanitarian Work Day’ initiative announced by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, which coincided with the ninth anniversary of the death of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Employees of the Supreme Council, the Regulation and Supervision Bureau for Electricity and Water in Dubai, and the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence, collected donations for the initiative, organised in collaboration with Dar Al Ber Society. “The Supreme Council of Energy hosted the Iftar on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day to commemorate the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, by collecting donations from our employees and stakeholders,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Council. “The ‘Zayed Humanitarian Work Day’ initiative reflects the goals of our visionary leadership in helping the needy and poor across the globe. Being helpful and charitable are deep-rooted values of Emiratis. We aim to support underprivileged people to further promote the wellbeing and humanitarian development of this segment,” added Al Tayer. “We are following the steps of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who instilled in us the values of humanitarian work, and helping the needy,” said HE Ahmed Butti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Council. The employees of the Supreme Council expressed their pride on participating in the initiative which will significantly promote the principles of humanitarian work.
