On dedicating Accession Day celebrations to the men and women of the armed forces. Each year, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, gives us an example of selflessness and giving as he directs the Accession Day celebrations to be dedicated to thank and honour one of the categories that play a vital role in society. Dedicating this year’s celebrations to salute and honour our men and women in the armed forces is an opportunity to express our thanks and appreciation for the great role our armed forces play in protecting this country and preserving its achievements. Our men and women in the armed forces deserve our appreciation and praise for their efforts. They are the ones who watch over our land so that all citizens, residents, and visitors can rest assured that there are young people who are willing to sacrifice their lives for their country. On this occasion, we also remember our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the pride, dignity, and prosperity of the UAE. May Allah rest their souls in peace. As a national responsible organisation, we at DEWA stand behind our armed forces and its loyal men and women. We express our thanks and gratitude for all they offer to the nation. A few days ago, DEWA cleared 114 young people from its staff to join the second batch of the UAE’s national military service. DEWA took the necessary measures to facilitate their joining the national duty. This requires concerted efforts to achieve its objectives to create promising and confident young people who possess qualities of leadership in different areas. Completing national service helps young people to enhance their team spirit, and supports the UAE’s National Identity. All required arrangements have been made to assign substitutes and enable staff to join the military on time. We say to our brave young people in the armed forces: Thank you protectors of the nation. You are the pride of the UAE and its fortified shield. We pray to Allah to protect you and keep you to this country under the leadership of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nayhan, President of the UAE, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council Rulers of the Emirates, and HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
