In line with the UAE’s leadership vision and Dubai Government’s strategy to improve smart services by adopting the latest technologies, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received a delegation from Dubai Police. The visiting delegation was briefed on DEWA’s best practices in IT Service Management to strengthen the bonds of mutual cooperation among government and private organisations. DEWA demonstrated its working methodologies in IT service management. The team also discussed the great advancement achieved by DEWA in recent years as it constantly upgrades services to advanced levels in line with its vision to be a sustainable innovative world-class utility. These initiatives seek to ensure delivery of services in line with best international practices. “DEWA contributes to building a smart city through smart services initiatives that support the sustainable development of the Emirate. We follow the highest international standards in the management and projects implementation, and we focus on a culture of excellence across administrative, operational and service levels to achieve exemplary efficiency, performance and service excellence across all fields,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. “DEWA has recorded many achievements recently. We have received the ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 certification for 2015 in IT Service Management, among other honours, which emphasise DEWA’s commitment to follow the best international standards in technical services. The recognitions also underline our keenness to adopt effective and sophisticated systems within all departments and sections, to provide the best service at any time and any place,” added Al Tayer. “DEWA is keen to promote various partnerships to contribute to the UAE’s efforts to be at the top position in all areas. We place great attention to everything that supports this such as sharing expertise and experiences with various local and international organisations,” said Moza Al Akraf, CIO of DEWA. “DEWA focuses to be pioneer and distinct government organisation through strategic planning to improve the performance of services offered and to overcome obstacles and technical risks. We aim to ensure high reliability to delight our customers through qualitative leaps in the development of infrastructure related to IT Service Management,” added Al Akraf. The delegation thanked DEWA for the welcome reception, and expressed its pleasure with the significant evolution in technologies used by DEWA.
