DEWA reaffirms loyalty and commitment to UAE on Flag Day

In celebration of Flag Day on 3 November, - the anniversary of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession to the Presidency of the UAE, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) participated in raising the UAE flag above all of its buildings, in the presence of top officials and employees at 12:00pm at DEWA’s headquarters, in line with other ministries and government organisations. The ceremony started with the raising of the UAE flag, the singing of the National anthem, and the reciting of the flag oath. Flags were also raised at DEWA’s offices and buildings in Jebel Ali, Hudaiba, Warsan, and Al Quoz, in the presence of DEWA officials and a large number of customers, who are always keen to participate in this important national event. DEWA’s participation formed part of the 44th UAE National Day celebrations, to embody the spirit of the union, strengthen National Identity, and enhance national loyalty and belonging. DEWA’s celebration included group activities and events that will continue throughout the UAE National Day celebrations. “On this special occasion, we renew our loyalty and commitment to continuing our work under the leadership of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, Their Highnesses the Crown Princes, and the Sheikhs,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. “We gather today around this beloved flag to celebrate a very important occasion in which we renew our commitment to our wise government, and we congratulate the UAE government and people living in this good land, asking Almighty Allah that prosperity and dignity continues for ever for the UAE and its people. The national flag is a great national symbol, entrusted to us by our forefathers, and it encourages us to be more honest and limitless in our giving, and to sacrifice our souls for the country and its development,” added Al Tayer. “We gather today to confirm our continuous efforts to strengthen the identity of the UAE, and to preserve the achievements of a history full of loyalty, giving, and honesty, to achieve prosperity under the flag of the union, which provides us strength every day.” The celebration included the organisation of activities and events at DEWA’s headquarters, including flag painting, food served by the UAE restaurant Mama Tani, and the popular Dokkan, which continues for the whole month of November. UAE flags were distributed to employees and visitors, and DEWA offices were decorated with flags. The UAE flag was also placed on electronic bills and digital screens. Flag Day celebrations will continue until the 44th UAE National Day on 2 December 2015. These celebrations embody the spirit of the Union, strengthen National Identity, and enhance national loyalty and belonging.
