Employees of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Dubai Petroleum Establishment raised the UAE flag in accordance with other ministries and government organisations to celebrate UAE Flag Day. This supports the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The celebrations coincide with the anniversary of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession to the Presidency of the UAE. This year’s celebrations showcased feelings of pride and honour towards the UAE’s soldiers and martyrs, who defend our rights, and reaffirmed the support of the military forces and our leadership. “I congratulate His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his accession to the Presidency of the UAE, and his brother, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on this important day, to enhance values of loyalty to our beloved country,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). “The UAE flag represents our ambitions and sacrifices, and it is the flag of our pride and honour. We celebrate this day when all the UAE people gather as one, and express their love and pride for the achievements of our wise government,” said HE Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. “UAE Flag Day represents the strong communication and integration of the UAE people. We are very proud today of the presence of our country and our local and international achievements,” said HE Abdullah Abdul Karim, Director General of the Department of Petroleum Affairs. Al Muhairbi and Abdul Karim, senior management, executives and all employees from both organisations gathered to raise the UAE flag at 12:00 pm on Tuesday 3 November 2015.
