DEWA Wins Great Place to Work Certificate

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has won the Great Place to Work Certificate.® The American Great Place to Work® institute gives the certificate in collaboration with Fortune magazine to organisations for their excellence in providing the best work environment. The achievement meets the vision of wise leadership for Dubai to become the happiest city in the world.

Great Place to Work institute in the UAE conducted a wide-scale and independent analysis to get feedback from employees, as part of a survey about work environment. Great Place to Work® is an international organisation that evaluate work environments and cultures in organisations that achieve excellence in incredibility and performance. Business leaders and researchers depend on its measures to determine best work places.

DEWA has maintained its top position in the Happiness Index in the large Dubai government entities category, for the second consecutive year with a 95% happiness level. This was according to Smart Dubai’s Happiness Index that monitors happiness among the people of Dubai. DEWA adopts a number of initiatives and programmes to ensure employee happiness. The Happiness Charter in the Work Environment was inaugurated in March 2019 to promote the happiness of employees, as part of the international Happy Café network adopted by the Action for Happiness organisation. DEWA is the first government organisation in Dubai to adopt this concept, which has identified 10 keys to happier living. DEWA has a work plan to promote each of these keys on a monthly basis, including initiatives, activities, and panel discussions. DEWA’s Happy Café is an interactive platform for staff, customers, society, and stakeholders in general. DEWA also launched the Happiness Charter in the Work Environment to promote the happiness of employees.
