Saline Water Conversion Cooperation (SWCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Commons Arab Company to enhance bilateral cooperation in developing green hydrogen as a source for clean energy to protect the environment. This was signed during the 23rd Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show (DSS) 2021. Essam bin Abduallah Al Jarba, CEO of Investment and Business Development at the SWCC signed the MoU with Amit Dashbindi, CEO of Commons Arab Company to enhance cooperation in engineering consultancy, research and training in renewable energy areas.
Signing the MoU is part of the SWCC’s direction as a key industrial player in the Saudi economy to optimise its resources and diversify its innovations and solutions in water production while achieving zero carbon emissions and diversifying energy sources. This is in addition to employing promising and modern technologies to achieve this goal.
The SWCC and Commons will innovate practical solutions for reducing carbon emissions and produce hydrogen as an alternative energy source. These solutions support the water production and make it a leading and eco-friendly industry. This is in accordance with the KSA Vision 2030 which includes adopting clean energy in different projects as part of a global trend to utilise hydrogen as an energy source that will reshape the energy chains worldwide.
The SWCC works on developing innovations and technologies in water production, clean and renewable energy and creates partnerships in these areas and other relevant areas. This opens new prospects for this industry to achieve higher efficiency and sustainability and adopt solutions that reduce carbon emissions.

WETEX and DSS 2021 has developed into one of the largest specialised exhibitions in the world and the largest exhibition of its kind in the region. It has become an ideal platform for companies, organisations, experts, and investors to network. The 23rd WETEX builds on the success of the previous editions especially amid the accelerating growth of solar energy in the region. The exhibition is an important platform for the public and private sectors to sign deals, create partnerships, learn about the latest technologies in solar power, market needs and opportunities for joining solar power projects in the region. This is especially important amid the UAE and the region’s expansion in the use of clean and renewable energy.
