DEWA organises interactive workshop to develop the talents of students of determination

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised an interactive workshop in collaboration with the Dubai Club for People of Determination. The workshop aims to develop the talent of students of determination, including children of DEWA staff. They were encouraged to innovate, create, and unleash their potential and creativity through art. 

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, noted DEWA’s efforts to launch activities and programmes for students of determination and encourage them to innovate, create and learn at all times. DEWA provides a motivational, educational and innovative environment that empowers their inclusion in society as capable and creative individuals.

“We work according to the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to enable all people of determination with opportunities to be fully included into society and play an important role as influential individuals. DEWA supports the National Policy to Empower People of Determination, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to create an inclusive society that ensures empowerment and a decent life for People of Determination and their families. It also supports the ‘My Community... a City for Everyone’ initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, to transform Dubai into an accessible city for people of determination. DEWA implemented and sponsored 71 programmes and initiatives to include people of determination in society between 2015 and 2021. These initiatives have reached 3,484,998 individuals. The happiness of society towards DEWA’s support to people of determination reached 94% in 2021,” said Al Tayer.

Over the past three years, DEWA has sponsored some key events for the inclusion and empowerment of people of determination in Dubai, including the Fazza International Championships for People of Determination, the annual AccessAbilities Expo, and the annual autism awareness campaign.
