Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised four sports tournaments in the first half of 2022. A total of 437 employees from various DEWA divisions took part in the competitions: 200 employees participated in the Cricket Tournament, 82 employees took part in the Padel Tournament, 80 employees took part in the Chess Tournament, and 75 employees took part in the Swimming Championship. The tournaments were organised at DEWA Campus for Occupational and Academic Development, the G-Force Cricket Academy and the World Padel Academy.

“We are keen to provide a positive and motivating work environment that helps employees balance their work and social lives and encourage them to participate in various sports to promote a healthy and vibrant lifestyle. The sports activities that DEWA organises or participates spread positive energy, enhance teamwork, promote social cohesion and communications among employees, as well as develop the physical and mental capabilities of the participants, helping them gain self-confidence and inspire healthy competition among them. This is done amid an atmosphere of sportsmanship which is common in all sports activities in Dubai,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

DEWA’s employees were pleased to participate in the sports tournaments. They thanked the top management for organising different sports activities and encouraging employees to take part.
