DEWA organises the 12th cycle of the Future Engineer Camp

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will organise the 12th Future Engineer Camp, with the participation of 30 children of DEWA employees between 12 and 15 years old. This is part of DEWA’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of innovation and instil a spirit of creativity among the younger generation. The camp, organised virtually from 18 to 28 July 2022, focuses on various scientific fields. These include 3D printing, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems, robotics, drones, power generation through human effort, the Internet of Things, remote sensing, cybersecurity systems, along with a number of life skills. The camp will also include a field visit to the Dubai Scout Mission.

“At DEWA, we are keen to establish a sound environment that contributes to the upbringing of a generation equipped with science and knowledge. This is in line with the UAE’s National Advanced Sciences Agenda 2031, which aims to develop advanced solutions for future challenges and achieve the objectives of the UAE Centennial 2071, which is a long-term government plan to prepare the UAE and young Emiratis for the future. The Future Engineer Camp is an important platform for developing a spirit of scientific research, creativity and innovation among the new generation, as well as their passion for innovation, scientific research, technology and advanced sciences. It also provides them with technical skills through hands-on experiences and applications to expand their understanding and passion for science and engineering subjects and modern technologies,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

Al Tayer emphasised that the Future Engineer Camp promotes a culture of innovation among the new generation, enhances their skills in the technical and engineering fields, develops their theoretical and practical skills, and helps them explore their capabilities and passion for technology at an early age based on the best international practices and standards.

The Future Engineer Camp attracted 344 students over its past editions. The happiness of students was 96% while the happiness of their parents was 99% for the 11th edition of the camp.
