“Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) adopts an integrated strategy to qualify youth to participate in different areas of national work. We believe that the youth are tomorrow’s leaders and the cornerstone of ensuring a brighter future for generations to come. DEWA attaches great importance to supporting its Youth Council to enhance its role in extending bridges of communication with youth councils in different parts of the UAE. This consolidates their positive contribution to DEWA’s excellence journey and the UAE’s competitiveness in all areas. It also strengthens communication between young employees and the top management to deliver on their suggestions, views, and innovation. DEWA’s Youth Council has launched several initiatives and more than 10 communication platforms since October 2019 and until August 2022, to enhance communication between DEWA’s employees. The Council organised more than 65 events, 25 awareness lectures, and 4 cultural trips and field visits. It also participated in seven international forums and conferences. A number of the Council’s members participated in national and international programmes. DEWA’s employee happiness was 94% in 2021, towards all the Council’s events and initiatives. DEWA’s Youth Council strategy focuses on five main pillars: values, national identity, continued education, professional development, future accelerators, innovation and sustainability,” said Aysha Mohammad Alremeithi, DEWA’s Youth Council President.
