WETEX & DSS 2022 organises 37 specialised panel discussions and seminars on day one

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised 37 specialised seminars and panel discussions on the first day of the 24th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show (DSS) 2022. DEWA is organising WETEX and DSS under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, from 27-29 September, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in Halls 1 to 8, Arena Halls 1 and 2 Sheikh Saeed Halls 1, 2 and 3.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Founder and Chairman of WETEX and DSS, noted that this year's exhibition provides an opportunity to learn about the latest global solutions, technologies, products and services in the sectors of energy, water, sustainability, green technologies, and renewable and clean energy, which are showcased by 1,750 companies from 55 countries participating in the exhibition. On the sidelines of the exhibition, DEWA is also holding many specialised seminars by experts from all over the world. These provide an opportunity to learn about the best solutions, innovations and practices in these areas.

Day 1 included nine key panel discussions and seminars entitled Energy Efficiency, Sustainability & Conservation; Clean Energy (Green Hydrogen) and Energy Efficiency, Sustainability & Conservation; ENOC Link Smart Station; Improving Manufacturing Operations with IoT Technologies; E-Mobility – Enabling EV Adoption with Smarter Grids; Road to Green Hydrogen; Energy Efficiency, Sustainability and Conservation; Securing Your Digital Transformation; and Aquifer Storage & Recovery – Large Scale Strategic Storage for Desalinated Water.

Day 1 also witnessed seven panel discussions on renewable energy and sustainability. These were titled Meet GreeEvo companies – reliable suppliers of smart eco-friendly solutions; Clean Energy in the MENA Region: Landscape & Outlook, Challenges & Opportunities; Roadmap to Achieve Net-Zero Economy Accelerating the Energy Transition: Opportunities and Challenges ahead of COP27 & COP28; Financing the Energy Transition in the MENA Region: Role of Governments and Private Sector; Climate Finance in the MENA Region: Challenges and Opportunities; and Green Hydrogen in MENA: A Hype or a Ripe?

Moreover, Day 1 comprised eight sessions on managing supplier relationships bringing together major companies including Samsung, Dell, Jumbo, Ingram Micro, and DEWA.

Meanwhile, the Water Hall seminars on Day 1 included seven sessions on secure connectivity solutions in water management; total solutions for water hammer, surge analysis, fabrication, installation, and training; The technical and commercial advantages of using ceramic flat membrane technology; Desert Solar Solutions; Smart Metering in the Smart City; Savings in Water Distribution Networks; and Change Impact & Evolutions - Hydrology and Water Resources.

The Educational and Innovation Zone, which is dedicated to youth at Hall 1 in the exhibition, hosted six panel discussions, presentations, and round table discussions that brought together sustainability leaders, postgraduate students and young professionals.
