Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) |DEWA organises annual gala dinner for employees under the theme ‘Be proud, let’s celebrate our global success’

In line with its commitment to enhancing communication with its staff in a happy, work environment, DEWA organised its annual gala dinner under the theme ‘Be proud, let’s celebrate our global success’. The event was attended by HE Matar Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of DEWA, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and DEWA Board Members Hilal Khalfan Bin Dhaher, Khalfan Ahmad Harib, Majid Hamad AlShamsi, Obaid Bin Mes’har, and Mohammed Juma Saif AlSuwaidi. DEWA officials and many employees attended the event at the Grand Hyatt Dubai hotel.

You work tirelessly to make DEWA one of the most important utilities worldwide, and a global benchmark for best practices. It achieves the top positions in many global competitiveness indicators; contributing to Dubai’s progress in leading the future, by reworking the traditional concepts of work mechanisms to suit the rapid global changes and strengthen Dubai’s position as an incubator for creativity and a beacon of innovation,” said HE Saeed Al Tayer in his speech.

“Last week, we announced that DEWA had achieved the best annual consolidated and standalone financial performance in its operational history. These successes and achievements are the result of the joint efforts of our Board of Directors, management team and all employees, as well as our commitment to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. At DEWA, we are proud to be part of the pioneering achievements that promote the global position of the UAE and Dubai, which is moving steadily to be one of the three best economic cities in the world, according to the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). We all work to implement several innovative projects to consolidate Dubai’s position as a global hub for a green economy with the support of DEWA’s teams in a positive and happy environment that motivates employees to be creative and innovative,” added Al Tayer.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, once said, ‘Maintaining the pinnacle of success is harder than trying to attain it, so the position we have reached necessitates the continuation of work on developing our capabilities and raising our competencies,’ ” Al Tayer added.

“I reiterate that you are a key driver for DEWA. Your role is crucial to ensuring that we continue providing innovative and distinguished services to customers and ensure the happiness of all stakeholders. I urge you to continue your excellence, to help DEWA reach broader horizons with greater achievements, to consolidate Dubai’s position as a global hub for trade, finance, tourism and green economy, as well as contribute to making the UAE the world’s leading nation,” concluded Al Tayer.

“Organising this year’s gala dinner under the theme ‘Be proud, let’s celebrate our global success’ underlines the keenness of DEWA’s senior management to recognise the efforts of its staff in our significant global achievements. The management is also keen to provide a positive and motivational work environment that enhances the happiness of employees and in turn, all stakeholders,” said Khawla Al Mehairi, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Government Communications at DEWA.

DEWA’s employees commended the top management for organising the annual gala dinner and enhancing communication with them. This incentivises them to create more achievements to maintain DEWA’s excellence and global leadership. During the event a video on DEWA’s key achievements in 2022 was played, followed by some enjoyable activities for all employees.
