DEWA organises annual Suhoor gathering for its employees

In a distinguished Ramadan atmosphere, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised the annual Suhoor for its employees. The gathering was attended by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD&CEO of DEWA, DEWA officials and many employees at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel. The gathering featured a lecture by Dr. Isam Yasin Gari and Islamic songs by Abdullah Al Wasmi.

“I am pleased to be with you at this gathering. First, I would like to extend my best wishes on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, and Their Highnesses the Sheikhs; the UAE Government, and all citizens and residents of the UAE. I also congratulate all DEWA employees on the Holy Month. We pray to Almighty Allah to make the Holy Month of Ramadan a month of benevolence and blessings for the UAE, its leadership, government, and people, and to fulfil the aspirations of the Arab and Islamic nations in a world of peace, security and prosperity,” said HE Saeed Al Tayer in his speech at the gathering.

“The Holy Month of Ramadan reminds us of the spirit of worship and its purpose of spreading peace, love, harmony, compassion and self-discipline in line with the noble values of Islam that are based on tolerance, brotherhood, caring for each other, and altruism. The Holy Month also reminds us of the importance of protecting the environment and natural resources and avoiding waste. Ramadan is an opportunity to consider a shift towards a green lifestyle that is not wasteful and does not deplete natural resources. A green lifestyle means improving the quality of life and contributing to the desired sustainable development,” added Al Tayer.

“In this spiritual atmosphere, we ask Allah Almighty to continue to bless the UAE with safety and security and to protect our wise leadership so that the UAE continues its role in spreading peace and tolerance and remains a beacon for humanity and a hub for charitable and humanitarian work. The continued benevolence and generosity in the UAE is reflected in extending a helping hand to all those in need without discrimination, following the footstep of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace. We also pray to Allah Almighty to support us in our mission to serve our beloved country. I wish you many happy returns during these blessed days. May Allah accept from us all our good deeds,” concluded Al Tayer.

At the end of the gathering, Al Tayer honoured Dr. Gari and Al Wasmi for their participation in DEWA’s annual Suhoor Gathering.

The gathering included different activities and raffle draws with valuable prizes. DEWA’s employees expressed their thanks and appreciation to DEWA’s top management, who are keen to organise the annual Suhoor gathering in a unique Ramadan atmosphere that enhances networking and the spirit of brotherhood and affection among employees.
