DEWA’s Innovation Centre stand at the Arabian Travel Market 2023 witnesses a large turnout

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s Innovation Centre’s stand at the 30th Arabian Travel Market 2023, showcased pioneering and innovative experiences to visitors, using the Metaverse, hologram, augmented reality, drones, and other technologies. These experiences make the Centre a key landmark in Dubai and a destination for those who want to explore the latest innovations in clean and renewable energy. The Centre’s stand attracted many visitors who wanted to learn about a sustainable future.

During the Arabian Travel Market 2023, held under the theme `Working Towards Net Zero`, DEWA informed visitors of the exhibition about its efforts to make Dubai a global capital for a green economy, in addition to achieving the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 to provide 100% of Dubai’s total power production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.

The Innovation Centre supports our efforts to promote a culture of innovation among institutions and individuals. It also highlights the sectors that will lead the innovation process in the future. The Centre has become a global platform that contributes to promoting the future of sustainable energy within an integrated system run by Emiratis.

The Centre, which is located at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai, the largest single-site solar park in the world, takes its visitors on a virtual journey around the park using Metaverse technology. Moreover, it allows them to experience the autonomous bus ride and other innovative technologies.

The Centre provides over 35 interactive exhibits about DEWA’s journey, key historical inventions, and innovations in electricity as well as clean and renewable energy. The Centre also houses the DEWA Museum, exhibitions on developments in clean and renewable energy, critical components of photovoltaic solar cells and related technologies, including Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and the Solar Power Tower. It also showcases DEWA’s renewable energy journey, Smart DEWA, solar cell applications in spacecraft and satellites, and the development of DEWA’s sustainable buildings. The visual space explains the properties of light and solar radiation. This is in addition to a café and a souvenir shop. It houses an auditorium and several halls equipped with the latest audio-visual systems for events, meetings, workshops, lectures, conferences, solar power training, renewable energy and sustainability initiatives.

The Innovation Centre receives visitors from Saturday to Wednesday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Tickets are available on http://www.mbrsic.ae or the Centre’s smart app (MBRSIC). Hologram shows are organised every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 am and 02:30 pm. The Centre offers discounts on tickets for children and students and free entrance for people of determination.
