DEWA organises the 14th Future Engineer Camp

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organising the 14th Future Engineer summer camp, from 3 to 13 July 2023, with the participation of 30 students aged 11 to 14 years, who are children of DEWA employees. The camp aims to expand students’ knowledge and skills in the fields of robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), drones, 3D printing, cybersecurity, information technology security, electrical circuits, and the basics of mechanics. In addition, a number of educational and awareness activities will be organised to enhance personal skills and encourage children to showcase their talents in various fields, including self-development and creative thinking. The camp programme also includes a field visit to the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) and the Museum of the Future.

DEWA organises the Future Engineer Camp in line with its commitment to investing in students and the youth in a safe and positive way, and to improve their skills and knowledge, to benefit individuals and society. The camp aligns with DEWA’s efforts to prepare students for promising careers by strengthening their technical skills and promoting scientific research, innovation and creativity. DEWA also encourages the next generation towards scientific specialisations. It helps to empower and train the youth and invest in their potential, time and skills. This qualifies them to become the next generation of sustainability leaders. The camp is popular among DEWA employees and their children as it considers the students’ cognitive abilities and age requirements. It ensures they gain knowledge and experience, and bring science and technology closer to the new generation through practical experiments and applications for the next generation of scientists and creative minds.

The Future Engineer camp has attracted 404 students over its past editions. Students’ happiness was 99%, while their parents’ happiness was 100% for the 13th edition of the camp.
