“Thanks to the continuous support of the top management of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), DEWA’s Youth Council has achieved leadership among youth councils across the UAE. The Council is successfully playing its role in supporting DEWA’s efforts to realise the vision of the wise leadership to empower and prepare young people to be the main pillar of sustainable and comprehensive development and turn national plans and strategies into reality. The Council fosters a positive and motivating work environment at DEWA by providing the youth with the opportunity to express their ideas and requirements. We encourage their participation in the most notable local and global events and programmes, to exchange experiences, skills, and best global practices, especially in innovation, research, sustainability, and forecasting and shaping a bright and promising future. The Council spares no effort to realise the ambitions of our youth to leave their mark on DEWA’s global accomplishments, and support the UAE and Dubai’s excellence and leadership. From October 2019 until the end of July 2023, DEWA’s Youth Council launched several initiatives to strengthen cooperation with youth councils across the UAE, and launched more than ten communication platforms with our youth employees. The Council organised 73 events, nearly 20 awareness sessions, four educational trips and field visits. It also participated in nine international forums and conferences, and conducted eight benchmarking events with various government and private organisations. Moreover, several members of the Council participated in two national and international programmes. Some of our members have been selected to be part of other local youth councils,” said Aysha Mohammad Alremeithi, DEWA’s Youth Council President.
