Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Women’s Committee organised a Skills Day event with the participation of 60 female employees from all division at DEWA. The event was part of the Women Committee’s ongoing efforts to develop the life skills and capabilities of female staff.
“DEWA Women’s Committee provides great care and support to its female employees to help them succeed, achieve self-fulfillment, unlock their potential, and foster their creativity and innovation. This approach helps them balance their professional, social and personal lives, and actively participate in nation-building and preparing future generations. The Committee has adopted an integrated approach to explore different areas of interest for women, such as self-development and mental and professional growth. It is committed to supporting DEWA’s efforts in providing a positive and motivational work environment that offers all the opportunities to help female employees, regardless of their positions and responsibilities, develop their personal and professional skills, and enhance their happiness and loyalty,” said Fatima Mohammed Al Jokar, Chairperson of DEWA Women’s Committee.
The Skills Day was organised by the Women’s Committee in collaboration with Skill Lab in Dubai, a specialised training Centre for life skills. The event focused on developing various skills of female employees, including cooking, ceramics, vase-making, and pottery decoration. The employees who took part emphasised the importance of such events in raising awareness about the Emirati heritage, while strengthening communication, cohesion and the spirit of teamwork among the employees. These events enable them to enhance their experiences and skills in various fields, helping them achieve more success and excellence.
