Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) attracted a large number of students to its 2023 summer training programme, which lasted for a whole month at various branches and centres. The training programme is part of DEWA’s strategy to attract and support Emirati students in accordance with its social responsibility. The programme concluded with a ceremony organised at DEWA’s Campus for Occupational and Academic Development. The participants, who were school and university students in various specialisations, received appreciation certificates and awards.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD&CEO of DEWA, emphasised that the summer training programmes DEWA provides for school and university students are part of its corporate social responsibility. They aim to support students’ skills in the professional and creative areas as well as give them an opportunity to learn about the work environment and gain practical experiences that help them shape their academic directions. The training programmes also develop the capabilities of Emirati youth, especially in the engineering fields.

Dr Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA, said that DEWA’s training programmes attracted 45 male and female students this summer. He emphasised that DEWA is committed to providing training opportunities to school and university students to develop their skills in accordance with the highest standards of training and learning. The trainings provide them with experiences that assist them in their future careers.

This year’s summer training programme featured lectures and awareness sessions that aimed to prepare the participants for a promising professional future, provide them with technical skills, and promote scientific research. The programme introduced the students to DEWA’s various divisions and technical departments to learn about the nature of their work. The trainees praised the important training opportunities provided by DEWA. They emphasised that the training programme will help them significantly in choosing their future academic and professional paths.
