DEWA celebrates its women sports team for their distinguished performance in the Gov Games 2024

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received DEWA’s women sports team, which came second in the 5th Gov Games, one of the most notable events on Dubai’s sports agenda. The games were held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, from 29 February to 3 March 2024.

Al Tayer congratulated the players for the results they achieved in the Gov Games and praised their efforts, dedication, and keenness to continuously train and prepare for competitions. Al Tayer emphasised DEWA’s commitment to encouraging employees to participate in various sports activities as they play an integral role in promoting teamwork and a healthy lifestyle, fostering the participants’ physical and mental capabilities, helping them gain self-confidence, and inspiring healthy competition.

Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources, and Chairman of DEWA’s Sports Committee at DEWA, congratulated the women’s team on achieving the second place in the Gov Games. Al Akraf highlighted the keenness of the top management in providing a positive and healthy work environment that helps employees unleash their potential and enhance their capabilities.

The female players thanked Al Tayer and the top management for providing a motivational environment, encouraging them to participate in sports tournaments, and providing all the necessary capabilities that helped them train prior to the event. DEWA’s female team includes Sarah Ibrahim, Rawdha Almansoori, Noura Alshamsi, Meera Almail, Maitha Albastaki, Nada Omar and Noora Abdullatif.
