Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) | Senior officials briefed on key sustainable and innovative projects and initiatives at DEWA’s stand at GITEX Global 2024

Several VIPs, international delegations and officials from major local and international organisations and companies visited the stand of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) at GITEX Global 2024. HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Co-existence, and HE Lt Gen Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, visited DEWA’s stand and were briefed by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, on the sustainable initiatives and projects implemented by DEWA using the latest technologies and innovative solutions.

Al Tayer also held meetings with senior officials from government and private organisations, as well as leading global companies in technology and innovation. These included Steven Yi, President of Huawei Middle East and Central Asia; Naim Yazbeck, General Manager of Microsoft UAE; Ayal Steinberg, General Manager for Technical Community and Client Engineering at IBM; Shukri Eid, General Manager of IBM in the Gulf, Levant and Pakistan; David Meads, Vice President for the Middle East and Africa at Cisco; Mohammed Amin, Senior Vice-President for Central Eastern Europe, Middle East, Turkey and Africa at Dell Technologies; and Walid Yehia, Managing Director for the UAE at Dell Technologies.

Al Tayer stated that these meetings allow for the exchange of ideas and best experiences with DEWA’s partners in the digital environment and digital transformation. He added that the meetings also strengthen strategic collaborations and partnerships between DEWA and leading global companies that are either existing or prospective partners, in addition to exchanging knowledge and expertise, and exploring the latest digital innovation and smart services offered by these companies. Such innovation enhances DEWA's capabilities in providing smart and sustainable solutions that support digital transformation. Dubai has become a global hub that attracts hundreds of thousands of international companies in the ICT sector to the UAE, to enhance its position as a regional technology hub, in line with the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make GITEX Global one of the largest technology exhibitions in the world and a global platform for exchanging expertise, building partnerships and learning about the latest digital innovation and smart services to benefit from them in promoting smart and sustainable solutions. DEWA’s participation at GITEX Global underscores its pivotal role in advancing digital transformation and contributing to Dubai's global competitiveness.
