In response to the call of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) observed Flag Day 2024. The occasion fostered a national atmosphere filled with pride, belonging and patriotism.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, raised the UAE flag at DEWA’s headquarters at 11am, accompanied by DEWA’s Executive Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents and a large number of employees.
“On Flag Day, I am honoured to extend my heartfelt congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; their Highnesses, the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates; their Highnesses, the Crown Princes; as well as all citizens and residents of the UAE. This national symbol embodies pride and dignity, representing the values of the Union established by the founding fathers, may their souls rest in peace. It unites all Emiratis under one flag, carrying the profound meanings of loyalty and belonging. On this day, we renew our pledge of allegiance to our leadership and affirm our commitment to safeguarding our national achievements. We continue to work diligently to accomplish even greater successes, guided by the vision and directives of our wise leadership, and ensuring that the UAE flag remains proudly raised. We pray to Almighty Allah to protect the UAE, its leadership and its people, and to bless us with continued security and stability, enabling us to advance along the path of progress and prosperity. We call upon our ambitious youth to contribute to building a bright future and realising the vision of our wise leadership to make the UAE the world’s leading nation by its centennial in 2071,” said Al Tayer.
DEWA employees renewed their pledge of loyalty and dedication to the nation and its wise leadership. They expressed their pride in celebrating this important national event and reaffirmed their unity and support for the UAE's leadership. Flag Day symbolises the nation's unity and co-existence among both citizens and residents of the UAE.
To mark Flag Day, DEWA launched an internal webpage with a heritage theme tied to the national initiative Zayed & Rashid. The webpage provides valuable information about the UAE flag, including its story, key milestones in the history of the UAE, notable Emiratis who have raised the flag on the world’s highest peaks, and records held by the UAE flag in the Guinness World Records, among other related topics.
