The Youth Council of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) visited children at Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital to bring joy and uplift their spirits. The young volunteers distributed gifts and engaged in interactive activities, fostering a sense of community and strengthening the bonds of mutual care.
“In line with the Year of Community and the Dubai Social Agenda 33, and the guidance of DEWA’s top management, we launch initiatives and activities that allow DEWA’s youth to contribute effectively to society and participate in volunteer work. These efforts embody the values of generosity, compassion and solidarity, strengthening the fabric of Dubai’s cohesive and dynamic community. The council supports DEWA’s social responsibility and advances its efforts to establish a culture of volunteer work among its employees,” said Aysha Mohammad Alremeithi, DEWA's Youth Council President.
The members of the Youth Council expressed their gratitude to DEWA for providing them with a meaningful experience and the opportunity to take part in transformative initiatives that have a lasting, positive impact on society.
From October 2019 to December 2024, the Youth Council organised 74 events, 23 awareness sessions and seven educational trips and field visits. The council also participated in 11 international forums and conferences. Additionally, several council members participated in four national and international programmes in 2023 and 2024. In the first quarter of 2025, the council worked on various initiatives, including the participation of its members in drafting the Dubai youth values charter, titled ‘My Values, My Future’. The charter establishes a framework of values that empowers young people to drive sustainable development. The council’s President also participated in several panel discussions organised by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) within the Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S) Hub, which aims to empower the next generation of sustainability leaders and emphasises the importance of empowering youths in the renewable energy and sustainability sectors. The council also organised an interactive trip to Mushrif Park to promote the concept of sustainable living and encourage youths to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
