Held annually under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) is organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and will take place from 30 September to 2 October 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Germany’s pavilion at WETEX 2025 will this year host 20 globally renowned companies showcasing breakthrough innovations in sustainability and technology – all designed to help cities and utilities become smarter, greener and more efficient. These pioneering solutions reflect Germany’s commitment to advancing sustainable development and smart infrastructure in collaboration with the UAE.

“WETEX consolidates the strategic partnership between the UAE and the Federal Republic of Germany in the fields of energy, renewable energy, research and development, sustainability and future industries, as well as sectors based on innovation and advanced technology. It is a global platform for exploring further investment opportunities that benefit the economies of both countries,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX.

HE Alexander Schönfelder, Germany’s Ambassador to the UAE, said: “Two years after COP28 in Dubai, we must work even more intensively towards the implementation of our climate goals, such as transitioning away from fossil fuels and tripling renewables. The new German government has reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to climate action. We are proud that many German companies present here at WETEX are leading in these fields and actively contributing to the achievement of these goals, helping to build a bridge between innovation, sustainability and international cooperation.”

Non-oil trade between the UAE and Germany stood at USD 13.8 billion in 2024, up 5.4% from 2023.

Each product on display at the German pavilion has been carefully selected to address critical challenges in energy and water efficiency, and digital transformation. The products include:

• Energy and water generation: stationary gas engines, combined heat and power (CHP) plants and cooling water lines used in power plants

• Water and wastewater treatment: water and wastewater systems, aeration panels, dercabonisation plants and solutions, tubular and ceramic ultrafiltration membranes, tailor-made activated carbon absorption solutions and water treatment plants

• Water infrastructure and distribution: water transmission pipelines, flexible hose and fittings, pumps and pump systems for building services, water management and industrial use

• Measurement, control and digital solutions: normal and smart metering systems, water treatment and disinfection technologies, measuring and control systems, digital fluid management and Internet of Things platforms

• Engineering and consulting services: consulting engineering services, with a focus on infrastructure.
