The Women’s Committee at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised a Skills Day in collaboration with Skill Lab in Dubai, which is managed by young Emiratis. The event aimed to empower female employees through engaging workshops in painting, design, cake and dessert creation, and the preparation of natural beauty products. A total of 60 female employees from various DEWA divisions and departments participated.

“We continue our efforts to build women’s capacities and provide support across various fields, as well as to foster an inclusive, positive and creative work environment. This contributes to improving performance and productivity, and achieving higher levels of job happiness. The social activities and practical workshops we organise are an important factor in helping female employees balance their professional and personal lives, while also strengthening organisational loyalty and social bonds, which, in turn, enhances their happiness,” said Fatima Mohammed Al Jokar, Chairperson of the DEWA Women’s Committee.

DEWA’s female employees noted that the activities organised by the Women’s Committee have helped them develop a wide range of skills, including carpet making, coffee preparation, flower arranging, cooking, ceramics, vase crafting and utensil decoration. The employees praised these activities for enhancing teamwork and communication among female staff across different departments and job levels.
