The Sustainability and Innovation Centre of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched the sixth cycle of the Young Inspirer Contest for pupils in grades four to 12. The contest aims to deepen their understanding of solar energy, its technologies and its role in shaping a more sustainable future. It also encourages them to develop innovative ways for using solar energy in everyday life, helping to drive positive change.
To participate, pupils are invited to create a 90-second video showing how solar energy can support a more conscious and sustainable lifestyle. They may also share an inspiring story about how they are helping to make their school and home more sustainable, propose a simple idea to improve electricity and water consumption efficiency or present their vision for innovations that help protect the environment. Pupils can submit their videos online via the following link: https://shorturl.at/UP5jR
More than 200 participants have taken part in the Young Inspirer Contest across its five previous cycles. The initiative reflects the Sustainability and Innovation Centre’s efforts to prepare younger generations for the future by raising awareness of sustainable practices and inspiring innovation and impactful contributions across various fields, particularly in clean and renewable energy. The contest also provides a platform for pupils to showcase their creativity while developing innovative thinking, strengthen their communication and problem-solving skills, and build character. Through an engaging and safe environment, it effectively equips them with valuable skills for the future. Submissions are open until 6 November 2026.
