DEWA certifies new cohort of Emirati professionals under fifth cycle of its Excellence Expert Assessment programme

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has certified 21 Emirati professionals under the fifth cycle of its internal Excellence Expert Assessment programme, reinforcing its commitment to developing national talent and preparing future leaders. The latest cohort brings the total number of excellence experts certified through the programme to 99 since its launch.

“Under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, excellence and achievement have become a deeply rooted culture and an institutional approach. These reinforce confidence in the UAE’s developmental model, which is based on empowering national competencies, role integration and cementing future readiness. We are proud of the Emirati workforce who present an exemplary model of excellence in planning, executing and enhancing government performance. We are also keen to motivate and invest in them to further solidify DEWA’s global leadership,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

This has expanded opportunities to leverage internal competencies to strengthen institutional capacities and further develop the self-assessment framework. This ensures the continuity and sustainability of the outstanding performance driven by the hands of UAE citizens, We have made large strides in global leadership and excellence. DEWA won 502 prestigious awards between 2015 and 2025, comprising 344 international awards, 82 regional awards and 76 local awards. DEWA earned the Hamdan Flag for the year 2025, while also ranked first worldwide across 13 key performance indicators and two regional benchmarks covering generation, transmission, distribution and customer service. DEWA’s record-high scores reflect its capability to translate Dubai’s working approach into action, delivering exceptional results in record time with absolute precision and excellence” added Al Tayer.

Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, said: “Designed to build advanced expertise in organisational excellence, the programme prepares vice presidents, senior managers, managers and assistant managers to conduct institutional assessments, enhance performance and embed best practices across the organisation, in line with the standards of the Dubai Government Excellence Program. DEWA Academy hosted the programme over two weeks, featuring 53 specialised sessions delivered by DEWA’s excellence experts and several of its leaders, alongside a practical pilot assessment.”
