"On Emirati Women’s Day, we celebrate the UAE’s pioneering achievements in empowering women and strengthening their role in advancing the nation’s ambitions. The theme, ‘We Emerge Stronger and Better’, reflects the visionary approach established by the late Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and reinforced by the wise directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. This approach is founded on a firm belief in the capabilities and potential of Emirati women, recognising them as key partners in nation-building and prosperity, and as essential contributors to transforming challenges into opportunities for growth and progress.
In the Year of Family, and in line with the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the UAE National Family Policy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) remains committed to providing a motivating and supportive work environment that enables female employees to uphold the values of family stability, cohesion and sustainability while achieving a healthy work-life balance and advancing their professional and leadership aspirations. As part of our efforts to achieve the sustainable development, we provide equal opportunities for all to grow, innovate and contribute meaningfully to achieving pioneering global milestones across multiple sectors, helping to ensure a sustainable future for current and future generations,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
"DEWA’s female employees continue to demonstrate exceptional competence and excellence across all areas of work. DEWA employs 1,925 women across its various divisions, including 844 in engineering and technical roles. In addition, women hold numerous leadership positions, while 1,185 female employees serve in supervisory roles. Emirati women account for 85% of DEWA’s total female workforce. Furthermore, DEWA plays a vital role in investing in national female talent and encouraging women to continue their journey of innovation, excellence and leadership,” added Al Tayer.
