DEWA enhances its capabilities in operating and monitoring water networks by adopting advanced smart technologies
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has enhanced its capabilities in operating and monitoring water networks through the adoption of advanced smart technologies and a robust digital infrastructure. This enables round-the-clock remote monitoring and control of water networks through the ‘Open Platform Communication Gateway for Data Exchange Between Multiple Water OT Systems’, which has been patented in the UAE. This initiative is part of DEWA’s ongoing efforts to enhance the reliability and efficiency of critical water infrastructure and support comprehensive digital transformation in operational network management, in line with global best practice.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer: 1,860 charging points in Dubai
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), announced that the EV Green Charger network has grown to more than 1,860 charging points across Dubai, including stations licensed by DEWA in collaboration with government and private sector entities. By mid-January 2026, the EV Green Charger initiative had enrolled 23,600 registered users, with DEWA providing more than 55,200 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity since its 2014 launch – enough to power more than 276 million kilometres of electric-vehicle travel.
