A VALID “EJARI” IS MANDATORY TO ACTIVATE YOUR DEWA SUPPLY WITHOUT THE NEED TO VISIT DEWA CUSTOMER HAPPINESS CENTRES

Now, making it more convenient, in ONE STEP you can activate DEWA electricity and water supply by obtaining Ejari from any of the property management companies and typing centers that are authorized by Dubai Land Department, without visiting DEWA Customer Happiness Centers.

The supply will be activated upon payment of DEWA security deposit that can be paid through any of DEWA’s smart payment channels.

1.       Do I need to obtain Ejari for DEWA Move-in Service?

Yes, effective July 1st, 2017 all customers will be required to obtain Ejari for DEWA Move-in service without visiting DEWA offices.

2.       Do I need to submit both Tenancy Contract and Ejari for DEWA Move in?

No, you are only required to submit Ejari, which will replace the traditional tenancy contract, for DEWA Move in.

3.       Can I get my Ejari at the time of getting my tenancy contract from any of the 800 Property Management Companies and property trustees?

Yes, you will get your Ejari at the time of getting your tenancy contract from any of the 800 Property Management Companies or typing centers that are authorized by Dubai Land Department.

4.       Can I request for DEWA Move In without visiting DEWA?

Yes, when you get your Ejari, your data is automatically transferred to DEWA system and a Move In request is generated creating your contract account number.

5.       How will I know that DEWA has created my Move in?

When you get your Ejari, a contract account number will automatically be created in DEWA system. Once that takes place you will immediately receive an SMS and welcome email from DEWA with your DEWA account details.

6.       How can I pay DEWA Security Deposit?

The Welcome email that you receive from DEWA will include a link to pay the Security Deposit.

If you are a registered online customer, you will be able to pay DEWA Security Deposit online by clicking on the link .

If you are not a registered customer then you need to register online first to get a user id/password. The link will then guide you through the steps mentioned earlier.

You can also pay DEWA Security Deposit using any DEWA smart payment channel. 

7.       If I do not receive a welcome email from DEWA, how can I make a Move in?

If you do not receive welcome email from DEWA, you can visit DEWA Website (www.dewa.gov.ae) or DEWA Smart App and enter Ejari number and/or Premise number to do the payment using Move In service.

Note: DEWA smart app is compatible on both IOS and Android operating systems and can be downloaded via apple store or Google play store. 

8.       Do I need to enter Ejari number while applying online at DEWA Website / DEWA Smart App?

Effective July 1st, If you choose to apply for Move-in through DEWA Website / DEWA Smart App you will be required to enter Ejari.

9.       How will Ejari number help me in DEWA Move in at DEWA Website / DEWA Smart App?

If you enter a valid Ejari number, you will not be required to submit any documents as the fields will be prepopulated with data.

10.      What is EJARI ‘attestation’ fees, ‘security deposit’ fee and supply activation fee for electricity and water services?

•        Ejari attestation - AED 170.00 to be paid to any of the 800 Property Management Companies or typing centers that are authorized by Dubai Land Department.

•        Service Charge - AED 40.00 to be paid to issue Ejari from any of the 800 Property Management Companies or typing centers that are authorized by Dubai Land Department.

•        Refundable security deposit for electricity and water connections - AED 2,000.00 (for apartments) / AED 4,000.00 (for villas).  In addition to, supply activation fees - AED 130.00 to be paid to DEWA through any payment channel.

•        In instances when customers notice extra charges from any property management company, kindly notify Dubai Land Department (DLD) 80022553737 for corrective measures to be accordingly taken.
