DEWA organises awareness events and activities during Dubai Shopping Festival 2020

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organising several awareness activities with Noor and Hayat, its cartoon characters that represent electricity and water, at the 26th Dubai Shopping Festival, which is organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) from 17 December 2020 until 30 January 2021. This is part of DEWA’s efforts to encourage the responsible use of resources.

The activities target kids and families. They include episodes from the ‘Noor and Hayat Adventures’ animated series which depict the role of renewable energy in the sustainability of resources and reduction of electricity and water consumption. They also demonstrate DEWA’s use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and modern technologies to detect water leakage. Interesting competitions will be held at Burj Park, Last Exit – Al Khawaneej, Al Seef, Al Rigga, and Hatta.

“DEWA attaches great importance to introducing the next generation to methods of protecting the environment, applying the best practices of conservation as well as following a responsible and sustainable lifestyle to reduce waste. We consider major events like DSF an important opportunity to reach out to more stakeholders, to show DEWA and Dubai’s efforts in conservation, protection of the environment,” said Khawla Al Mehairi, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Government Communications at DEWA.
