DEWA becomes the world’s first government entity to adopt Google's NotebookLM to generate podcasts from its press releases

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has adopted Google's advanced NotebookLM to convert its press releases into podcasts. The move underlines DEWA’s leadership in adopting artificial intelligence (AI) across its operations, making it the first government entity in the world to use this AI-powered model in this manner, enabling the public to follow DEWA's news in an interactive and seamless manner.

Milestone as DEWA becomes the first UAE organisation to obtain the ISO/IEC 17020:2012 accreditation

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has obtained the ISO/IEC 17020:2012 certification, adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This accomplishment makes DEWA the first organisation in the UAE to receive accreditation for conducting inspections on power distribution network assets in adherence to the highest standards of efficiency, accuracy, compliance and reliability.

DEWA discusses clean energy co-operation with German companies

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the UAE's leadership in clean energy, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), welcomed HE Sybille Pfaff, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dubai. She led a high-level German delegation representing prominent international companies and academic institutions specialising in renewable energy and green hydrogen. The delegation was part of the Energy Export Initiative launched by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The meeting was attended by Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence, and Marwan Bin Haidar, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future at DEWA.

New Guinness World Record for the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

The concentrated solar power (CSP) project within the fourth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, being developed by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has achieved a new Guinness World Record for the highest capacity single-operator concentrated solar power plant at 700 megawatts (MW). HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, received the certificate from the Guinness World Records Official Adjudicator during an event attended by a number of DEWA officials.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority PJSC announces record quarterly revenue of AED 5.96 billion and quarterly Cash from Operations of AED 3.85 billion

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority PJSC (ISIN: AED001801011) (Symbol: DEWA), the Emirate of Dubai’s exclusive electricity and water services provider, which is listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), today reported its first quarter 2025 consolidated financial results, recording quarterly revenue of AED 5.96 billion, EBITDA of AED 2.43 billion, operating profit of AED 838 million and net profit of AED 496 million. The company also generated a record net cash from operations of AED 3.85 billion resulting in closing cash and cash equivalents of AED 8.17 billion, which is AED 2.07 billion higher than the balance as at year-end 2024.

DEWA launches new sustainability training programme in collaboration with TÜV Rheinland Academy

The Sustainability and Innovation Centre of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), in collaboration with TÜV Rheinland Academy, has launched the first cycle of the Sustainability Principles training programme. Students and other participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of sustainability and its importance across various fields. Adding to the centre’s existing nine professional training courses, which have seen more than 220 individuals earn accredited certificates, the programme is the fourth collaborative effort between the centre and TÜV Rheinland Academy.

DEWA enables communities to uphold environmental responsibility for a sustainable future

For years, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised mangrove-planting and beach clean-up campaigns at Jebel Ali Marine Sanctuary, in co-operation with the Emirates Marine Environmental Group. These campaigns – in which DEWA Group employees, their families and DEWA Academy students have been involved – have helped to improve water quality and marine life habitats in the reserve, and led to an increase in the number of mangrove trees, which are natural carbon reservoirs.
