HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer welcomes Consul General of the Netherlands in Dubai at WETEX 2025

During the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), welcomed HE Paul Ymkers, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dubai. The two sides discussed cooperation between DEWA and Dutch companies, particularly in the renewable and clean energy sector. Al Tayer stressed the importance of Dutch companies' participation in WETEX and their role in providing the latest technologies and innovative solutions in the energy, water, and sustainability sectors.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer receives former President of Finland

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), welcomed HE Sauli Niinistö, former President of Finland, during the 11th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) to discuss advancing global sustainability efforts. The meeting followed Niinistö’s keynote speech at the summit’s opening, where he highlighted critical role of policies and financing in promoting the green economy, as well as the importance of fairness, flexibility and youth participation to ensure that solutions are equitable, inclusive and future-oriented.

DEWA and Siemens Energy drive global innovation with phase two of groundbreaking AI Plant Intelligent Controller

Following the exceptional results achieved by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in collaboration with Siemens Energy, in developing and implementing the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) Plant Intelligent Controller, the two sides have signed a new agreement to implement the second phase of the project in M-Station Power Blocks 20 & 30 at the Jebel Ali Power and Desalination Complex, the largest power plant in the UAE. The first phase of the project achieved significant results, including a 2.2% improvement in efficiency and fuel savings, in addition to a reduction of 35,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year for each power block.
