DEWA advances employees’ safety and well-being with 92 training sessions in first half of 2025
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised 92 training courses and awareness sessions on occupational health, safety and quality of life during the first half of 2025, with the participation of 2,066 employees from various divisions. A group of experts highlighted international best practices on risk prevention, emergency preparedness, stress and fatigue management, and ways to promote climate resilience while maintaining safe and healthy environments at home and the workplace.

DEWA concludes summer training programme for young Emiratis
Demonstrating its commitment to youth empowerment, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) hosted a graduation ceremony at its Campus for Occupational and Academic Development to honour participants of the 2025 Summer Training Programme. Emirati high school pupils and university students were presented with certificates of appreciation and awards to celebrate their successful completion of the programme.

Hatta exports power to Dubai
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), announced the beginning of trial operation and electricity export from the pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant in Hatta to Dubai. This announcement was made during his visit to the project to review progress in the final stages of work, where the amount of energy produced during the past period of the station's operational testing exceeded 17,921 megawatt-hours. The plant will have a production capacity of 250 megawatts (MW), a storage capacity of 1,500 megawatt-hours and a lifespan of up to 80 years. The peak electricity demand in Hatta is approximately 39 MW and the surplus will be exported to Dubai.
