HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer reviews progress at the 1,800MW 6th phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), conducted a site visit to the 1,800MW sixth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. This phase is being developed under the independent power producer (IPP) model with investments of up to AED 5.5 billion.

WETEX opens broad investment horizons for international companies

Under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will organise the 27th edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) from 30 September to 2 October 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

DEWA’s summer programmes engage young minds and People of Determination in AI, robotics and sustainability workshops

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) annually organises a series of events and activities to invest young people and People of Determination’s (POD) time during the summer vacation by enhancing their theoretical and practical skills in sustainability, artificial intelligence, robotics, engineering, science and mathematics. The programmes promote teamwork and responsibility and strengthen national identity and noble Emirati values. These include the Summer Camp for People of Determination, orphans and employees' children, ‘Future Engineer’ camps, and in-person and virtual awareness lectures in collaboration with government and private entities across the UAE and Dubai. These support DEWA’s wider community outreach efforts to engage all members of society in improving electricity and water consumption efficiency and preserving natural resources.

Amazon Alexa

In line with its efforts to improve its digital experience, DEWA is the first government utility in the world to provide its smart services on Amazon’s Alexa in Arabic.

Inclusion and Empowerment of People of Determination

DEWA has launched leading initiatives to empower People of Determination, through targeted strategies, achieving the goals of UAE policy for POD Empowerment.

MBR Solar Park

MBR Solar Park is the largest single-site solar park in the world, with a planned capacity of 1,000MW by 2020, and 5,000MW by 2030.

Dubai 10X

DEWA adopts 10X initiative to deliver a new utility experience for Dubai and the world, focusing on four pillars: Solar Energy, Energy Storage, Artificial Intelligence and Digital services.

SOQOOR Program

SOQOOR Program is a performance-based recognition award program for a specific segment of DEWA Customers (Contractors and Consultants performing non-DEWA projects) for other project owners, aiming at enhancing the quality of applications’ submission and site operations on DEWA level.

Al Namoos

This service provides electricity connections in just one-step within 5 days, with no connection charges for commercial and industrial projects up to 150 kW.

Digital DEWA

The world’s first digital utility utilizing autonomous systems for renewable-energy, storage, expansion in Artificial Intelligence adoption and providing exceptional digital services.

Shams Dubai

DEWA’s first smart initiative to connect solar energy to buildings, part of the Distributed Renewable Resources Generation programme.

EV Green Charger

EV Green Charger is a DEWA pioneering initiative to establish the infrastructure and build electric vehicle charging stations.

Smart Applications
