The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced it will contribute AED 20 million to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to honor mothers by establishing a AED 1 billion endowment fund that will support the education of millions around the world. DEWA reduces carbon emissions by 92.5 million tonnes between 2006 and 2023 due to improvements in production efficiency

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has revealed that DEWA made a significant achievement in improving electricity and water production efficiency, with a 41.73% increase in 2023 compared to 2006. This equates to a cumulative reduction of 92.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions between 2006 and 2023, equivalent to planting 484 million trees required to absorb this amount of CO2 emission.

DEWA employees recycle over 7.1 tonnes of plastic bottles and aluminium cans in 14 months

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) places significant emphasis on introducing employees to the principles of the circular economy and encouraging them to adopt sustainable behaviours. These efforts have led to DEWA employees recycling 499,541 plastic bottles and aluminium cans from October 2022 until the end of December 2023. DEWA showcases over 50 innovative projects during Innovation Week

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) concluded the activities of Innovation Week, part of the UAE Innovation Month (UAE Innovates 2024), receiving widespread praise for its innovation efforts across various fields.
